Dahl Dance Center in Rochester MN offers Youth Ballroom and Latin Dance programs and lessons that expose students to the exciting world of partnership dancing as seen on “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Dancing with the Stars”. We enroll children ages six and up with the option of taking one to three classes per week. Our innovative teaching methods bring out the best in every student and we maintain a rigorous training program that gives the student a solid understanding of the basics of good dancing. Our mission is to train confident and articulate young persons with the ability to learn and contribute in an athletic and artistic environment.

DDC classes teach children how to dance and many other lifelong skills such as:

  • Etiquette
  • Discipline
  • Civility
  • Teamwork
  • Respect for self and others
  • Music and cultural appreciation
  • Creativity

Clothing and Footwear Requirements:

A photo of dance instructors that teach dance lessons in Rochester MNGirls should purchase a low heeled ballroom shoe that is either tan leather or nude satin. The 6 - 11 year olds should have a heel no taller than one inch. The older girls may wear a heel up to two inches. Boys need black, kid leather ballroom shoes. There are many websites that carry both styles of shoe. You can find a list of shoe suppliers we recommend on our helpful links page.

Students should wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement. However, we do have a few guidelines to encourage the students to present themselves appropriately:

  • No ripped or low rider jeans
  • No hats in class
  • No excessive jewelry as this can get caught on your partner
  • No shirts that allow stomach exposure
  • Long hair should be kept off the face
